"Character Assassination"

There were articles today in the Pio and Strib about Gaby and the claim from his agent that he's the victim of "character assassination". Basically both articles have Salcer refuting the contract numbers that have been thrown out there, and because those numbers are out there and Gaby is reportingly refusing those offers, it makes him look like the bad guy. Well, by this time, fans have already made up their mind about Gaby and his situation. Because of the numbers that have been thrown out there more people have been swayed to go the trade him route, but whether or not those numbers are right, the fact is that Gaby is still not signed at this point and he's being shopped around. I still stand by my opinion that Gaby's not worth over 9 mil, but if they can sign him long term around the 8-8.5 million, I'd take it, but with each passing day it looks like that possibility is moving further and further away.
