Gameday vs. Chicago

Monday, October 27, 2008

Game day for the Wild as they prepare for the Chicago Blackhawks at the Xcel. Let's hope that the Wild have learned from their mistakes the last two games about letting a team get back into the game and put this game out of reach. No real news out of the club today;Onto the Blackhawks...

The Blackhawks were hyped throughout the offseason as being one of the teams to watch because of the developing talents in Toews, Kane, and Byfuglien among many others, but with a rough start to the season, the Blackhawks fired tenure coach Denis Savard and replaced him with former Avalanche head coach Joel Quenneville. The Blackhawks look to notch another one in the win column as they head into St. Paul after a tough loss in Detroit on Saturday. The main story developing out of Chicago, that's been around since the acquisition of Cristobel Huet via free agency, is the goaltending situation between him and Nikolai Khabibulin. With players like Toews and Kane, along with Patrick Sharp and a healthy Martin Havlat, the Wild will be challenged tonight.
